About myBFA

We set out to make the Binding Financial Agreement a lot less painful.

Somewhere between the legal jargon and the awkward conversations, we found a way to make a prenup feel less like planning for a breakup and more like something two sensible adults do together.

Who you are dealing with

The people behind your agreement.

myBFA is built, owned and operated on the Gold Coast in Queensland, and these are the people who run it. The legal advice itself comes from independent Australian legal practitioners, because the Act requires it to be independent of us and of each other.

The old way

Why did this have to be so painful?

A Binding Financial Agreement is, at heart, a document that says the two of you agree about money. Getting one has traditionally cost far more than that sentence suggests.

$10,000+

The fees

What a couple commonly pays two traditional firms, once both sets of hourly rates are in. It is more than a decent used car.

12+ months

The wait

Back and forth, meetings and waiting, while life carries on around you.

“Pursuant to Section 90B of the Family Law Act 1975, the parties hereby covenant and agree…”

The jargon

You should not need a law degree to understand your own agreement.

How we got here

Born from frustration.

  1. The spark

Our founder watched friends spend $15,000 and eight months on a Binding Financial Agreement. The process wore them down far more than the agreement ever helped them.

  2. The prototype

We built the first version and tested it with couples. It turned out people were quite willing to talk about money once the process stopped being frightening.

  3. Lawyer partnerships

We partnered with family law firms across Australia, and showed that lawyers and technology together could be faster and cheaper while staying legally sound.

  4. myBFA launches

myBFA became fully operational in 2026. Thousands of couples have been protected since, saving an average of $8,020 and about ten months each.

Built by lawyers

Designed by practising family lawyers, so every question and every clause holds up. It is not a generic template you found online.

Days, not months

Most couples complete their agreement in two to four days rather than twelve months, and most of that time is the two of you thinking it over.

$1,980 inc GST, for both of you

That includes independent legal advice for both partners. There are no hidden fees and nothing that turns out to be extra.

Lawyers when you need them

Real lawyers review everything, but they step in at the right moments rather than billing you for every email.

Do it from your couch

Everything happens online. There are no offices and no appointments, just you, your partner and your devices.

Legally binding

Drafted to comply with sections 90B, 90C and 90D of the Family Law Act. This is the real thing.

What we believe

Four things we will not trade away.

Transparency over mystery

Legal processes should be understandable, with nobody hiding behind jargon.

Access over exclusivity

Financial protection should not be a luxury. Everyone deserves that clarity.

Prevention over reaction

It is better to agree while you are happy than to fight when you are not.

Technology and humans

Software gives you speed and lawyers give you judgment, and here you get both.
